In the month of March 2006, an exhibit of the works of Mokarrameh Ghanbari was convened at DEY Art Gallery. Organized by her son, {Ali Bolboi}, the exhibit put on display works that dealt with the immediate surroundings of the artist. One could see a deep understanding of color harmony in all of them. Paint touches were short and effective. The tradition of Persian miniatures and Indian painting could be seen in them. Usually symmetrical, the composition drew the viewer's attention to the center of the painting. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
Works of Ghanbari have a calming effect. They are simple and without much ceremony. One can sense the atmosphere of villages of the north through the use of tile-work techniques. <o:p></o:p>

The life of the recently-passed-away artist has been captured in a documentary by director {Ebrahim Mokhtari} called Roya-ha va khaterat-e Mokarrameh Ghanbari (Dreams and Memories of Mokarrameh Ghanbari). This documentary is available in many bookstores. The artist's name has also been mentioned in www.adventuredivas.com, a website dedicated to influential women, along with an interview and an article on the artist. According to her personal website (www.mokarram.com), Hollywood is also preparing a feature movie based on her life.

{مکرمه قنبری}، زنی که در سن ۶۴ سالگی در روستایی در دامنه کوه البرز در شمال ایران شروع به نقاشی کرد و تحسین و اعجاب همه هنردوستان را برانگیخت، سواد نداشت ولی می‌توانست شعر بسراید، رویاها و خاطرات‌اش، افسانه‌های محلی را به تصویر کشد، از ازدواج نا خواسته، از ناملایمات زندگی در دوران ارباب و رعیتی و از زندگی با هوویش بگوید و داستانهای قرآن و انجیل، آدم و هوا را بکشد. به شیوه اساتید هنر که سالها تحصیل کرده‌اند نقاشی کند.<o:p></o:p>
پس از برگزاری نمایشگاهی در*گالری سیحون* تهران و نمایشگاهی دیگر در شهر نیویورک، نگاه و توجه هنردوستان ایران و جهان به كارهای خانم قنبری جلب شد. در دستان او نیرویی جاری بود که قبل از نقاشی او را به آرایشگری، شکسته‌بندی یا طبیب تجربی، مامایی و برنج کاری واداشت. در هفتاد سالگی دروازه بزرگ خانه‌اش، دیوارها، لوازم خانه، کدو تنبلها و سنگها را با کمک ذهنیات خود نقاشی کرده بود. وی علت اصلی روی‌آوردن‌اش به نقاشی از دست دادن گاوی ذكر می‌كند كه بدان اُنس گرفته بوده.<o:p></o:p>
در فروردین‌ماه امسال (۱۳۸۵) نمایشگاهی از كارهای این هنرمند تازه متوفا در *گالری دی* توسط فرزندش {علی بلبلی} برگزار شد. کارهای بیشتر فرهنگ محیطی نقاش را در معرض دید می‌گذاشت. در همگی دركی از هارمونی رنگ دیده می‌شد. ضربه‌قلمها کوتاه و بافت‌دار بود.حال و هوای مینیاتور ایرانی و نقاشی هندی در کارهای او دیده می‌شد. نحوه ترکیب‌بندی طوری به نظر می‌رسید که توجه روی مرکز کار و اغلب قرینه بود.<o:p></o:p>
از نظر حسی، کارها آرامش‌بخش، ساده، و بی‌ریا بود. با دیدن این كارها، حال و هوای روستاهای شمال و زندگی روستایی احساس می‌شد.در تابلوها دورگیری تصحیح که رکن اصلی است دیده می‌شود، مثل هنرهای ایرانی کاشی، که گاهی با لکه و نقطه‌های رنگی و گاهی به صورت خط کشیده شده است. <o:p></o:p>

از این هنرمند فیلم مستندی نیز با نام رویاها و خاطرات مکرمه قنبری به کارگردانی {ابراهیم مختاری} ساخته شده است. این فیلم در برخی از کتابفروشی‌ها قابل تهیه است. در سایتی كه تمركزش بر معرفی زنان برجسته دنیاست از مکرمه قنبری نام برده شده، و همراه با مصاحبه، مطالبی نیز درج گردیده است (بروید به كمپانی فیلمسازی *فاكس* نیز در صدد تهیه فیلمی است از زندگی این هنرمند كه نقش او را بازیگر معروف هالیوودی، مریل استریپ، ایفا می‌كند. برخی از نقاشی‌های دیگر هنرمند در او قابل رویت است.
